Charles D Norris.
His music has been called "Exhaustingly imaginative," and "highly creative with a compelling musical narrative." In 2020, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Music Education from the Greenwood School of Music at Oklahoma State University.
In his music, Charles D. Norris enjoys exploring the vast ranges of the instruments: physically, musically, and dramatically. He is drawn to the jarring sensation of the unexpected and harmonic dissonances. His recent works include a four-movement work for wind ensemble, a concerto for flute and orchestra, and a fanfare for antiphonal brass; among other works in progress.
Music of the British Isles performed by the Lake Wobegon Brass Band conducted by Michael Halstenson and the Encore Wind Ensemble conducted by Jerry Luckhardt. Performed at the Hanifl Performing Arts Center on March 5, 2022 at 7:30pm.
