Donald Krubsack has been directing bands and teaching music at Wayzata High School since 2010. He held the same position for 20 years at Orono High School. Additionally, he taught music courses at St. Cloud State University, Augsburg College, Bethel College and the University of Minnesota. His ensembles have performed at state and national conventions. They have toured nationally and internationally.

Dr. Krubsack earned his B.A. in Music Education from St. Olaf College, M.M. in Conducting and Music Education from Northwestern University, and Ph.D. in Music Education from the University of Minnesota. He has been guest conductor and clinician for state and local music conventions and festivals. He has served on the board of directors for MMEA and MBDA. In 2007 he was a Minnesota Teacher of the Year finalist. In 2023 he was inducted into his high school Hall of Honor.

Currently, Dr. Krubsack is the associate conductor of the Lake Wobegon Brass Band, conducting their annual holiday concerts the first weekend in December. Over the years he has performed trombone on several occasions with the brass band in concert and on compact disc.

Dr. Krubsack is the composer-in-residence at the Basilica of Saint Mary, Minneapolis, and plays trombone in the Basilica Brass. There he has occasionally conducted the Cathedral Choir. He sang in the Schola Cantorum, was a section leader, wedding soloist, and cantor.
